beat classic adventure & all star on very hard with the 25 chatracters.then get over 1.000 feet in homerun contest with the 25 characters. then beat everybody's target test. then beat at least 5 guys in cruel melee.then play a vs match of mario vs a lv.9 bowser then they will fight you. one character will fight you at a time. beat them and they are yours.
Unlock Hulk[edit]
Beat cruel melee with every characters, after that, finish classic mode in very hard mode, at the credits screen, do not shoot on any credit, then, the main menu will become green. Then delete all the data, after that, turn off the console, and then, turn on the console again, then, instead to see the title screen, the character selection screen will show up, choose any of the characters, then Hulk will challenge you. Beat him and he is yours! Beat him, or else, your GameCube will explode!! Hulk is very strong and hard to beat. If you beat him, all the data you deleted will return, and a message will appears. The message says (The strong and green man, Hulk, is unlocked!). A new stage will be unlocked too.

1-The forest: Go in a forest (In real-life), then play Super Smash Bros Melee for 10 hours without stopping playing in that forest. After that, the next time you will play at SSBM, if you beat classic mode in any difficulty, this stage will be unlocked! This stage is 10 times bigger than the Temple stage.
2-Minus World (From Super Mario Bros): Play for 9000 hours with Mario and Luigi, then this stage is yours! This stage has no end and it is an underwater stage.
3-Ness's House: Unlock every characters and stages, but you need to have 100 or less trophies or else it won't work. Then, play the event 51 with Ness, but you need to only kill Giga Bowser. After that quit the event and finish the adventure mode with Ness to unlock Giga Bowser, then play a Melee match with Ness against Giga Bowser in Final Destination, win the match and this stage is unlocked!!

Buy a memory card with Mario and the memory card will challenge you beat him and he's yours.

Unlock Stupid Guy[edit]
Finish classic mode, but you need all trophies and all characters, except Mewtwo, Young Link, Falco, Mr Game And Watch, Bowser, Link and Mario. Then go to your collection of trophies, but the room will be messy. Wait 10 seconds and stupid man will challenge you. Beat him with Mr.Bean and he's yours! He is the most weak character in the game, all his attacks do only 1% of damage to every character.
By the way, to unlock Mr.Bean, defeat the crazy hand 100 times with every character, and do that also with the master hand. Then Mr.Bean will challenge you. Beat him and he's yours! He is a very good and funny character!
Unlock Negative Man[edit]
Finish all-stars mode with Ness on very hard mode 10 times, then Negative Man will challenge you. Beat him and he's yours. He is a very weak character. He doesn't have any real attacks.

This is a very hard thing to do, but it is possible to unlock yourself.
Be sure that in your memory card, you have a save of Animal Crossing, or it can't work. Unlock everything in teh gaem, then play a tournament with 32 characters, at the final fight, pause the game for a year, then come back, and unpause the game, and the damage of every character will be at 999%, then beat your ennemy, then you will win the tournament, but after that, the menu will become just a scary background with a scary music, and a new narrator with a scary voice will say a message:
(Congratulations, in a few seconds, you will enter in SSBM world forever! And you can't escape! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Don't try to escape, you can't!!! See you later . . . MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!)
Then, you will be teleported..in the game!!! Don't be scary when that happens. So now, you can play as yourself in SSBM! And your home is in the Animal Crossing save.

How To Unlock Vegeta[edit]
Beat the event 51 20 times in 1 hour. Then Vegeta will challenge you, beat him and you'll be able to play as Vegeta.
How To Unlock Mr. Clean[edit]
Unlock every character (however, don't unlock Jigglypuff), then play 200 Melee matches. 100 of those matches must be played using Mario, and the other 100 matches must be played using Kirby. However, you don't have to win all the matches, but you must win at least 100 matches. Then, go to the Lottery, then use 20 coins and you'll get a new trophy. That trophy should look like a sponge.Then play on Aventure mode and in the F-Zero stage, you'll see that trophy. Grab it, then Mr. Clean will challenge you where you took the trophy. Beat him and you'll unlock him!!! He's the best character of the game, and he's 2 times better than Link!!

Finish the adventure mode with Pikachu 100 times, then, go to training mode using any character, then press the Z and START buttons at the same time. If done correctly, you'll hear Axew cry at the stage selection screen. Make sure you select the Pokémon Stadium stage, then at the middle of the stage, there should be a Poké Ball. Grab and throw the Poké ball, and the Pokémon will be Axew. Defeat Axew and he's yours.

Finish the event 50 with Mewtwo 6 times, then do Mewtwo and Jigglypuff target tests two times, then Gengar will challenge you. It's not possible to defeat Gengar, because he's a ghost-type Pokémon, and since this is a fighting game, he can't be hit with any attacks.
Unlock Tourette's Guy[edit]
Buy some Colgate toothpaste. Make sure it is the one with tartar control. Put some toothpaste on your memory card (or on the Nintendo Gamecube logo if you don't have one). Then you should get a Colgate Toothpaste With Tartar Control throphy. Then, get that throphy again in the lottery. Then, Tourette's Guy will challenge you. Beat him and he's yours! He's hard to control since he's always drunk, but his attack may do lots of damage. So be careful when you battle him.
home run contest[edit]
You can unlock more ways to play in the home run contest mode. Here's how:
Home Run Contest with characters: Get 999999999999999999999999 Ft in the normal Home Run Contest. In this mode, instead of using the sandbag, you have to do it to the other characters
Giant Home Run Contest: Finish every event match in less than 30 minutes. Same thing as normal home run contest, but characters are giant instead.
Get final smashes[edit]
Buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl, then put the CD in the Gamecube. It should unlock final smashes since your memory card will have a save of SSBB. If this method does not work, you can try this alternative medthod: Press the Z button 7654 times on the title screen, then beat 5 ennemies in cruel melee in less than 30 seconds. Final smashes will then be unlocked!
PS: The alternative method might not work, because most of the time, the method just wont work just because the console dont want to allow you to unlock final smashes. There is 0,000000000001 % chances that the method work.
Unlock Peter Griffin[edit]
Before you do this, make sure you have an empty memory card, which you will insert into slot 2. First, go to the name entry, and enter 'PETR'. Then, using this name, finish the classic mode with Mario 52 times. Use the Very Hard difficulty at least once. Then, when you finished the classic for the 52nd time in a row, shoot only 1 credit. Then, after the narrator says 'Congratulations!', switch the memory card in the slot 1 in the slot 2 and the empty memory card in the slot 1. If done correctly, you'll hear Peter Griffin laughing. He will then challenge you. Defeat him, and he's yours! He's slow, but he's pretty strong. List of special moves:

This is because Barack Obama is the president, and since it is illegal to attack the president, you can't attack him. You can only attack him with items, Pokemon and with some attacks, such as Mario's Fireball, Fox's gun, Samus' and Link's bombs, etc.

How To Unlock Windows 98 Stage[edit]
Survive (do not complete it) the event 51 until your GameCube crashes. Then, you'll get a message saying 'Windows 98 has been unlocked! Good times with buggy computers!'. Then as it says, the Windows 98 stage will be unlocked. HOWEVER IT WAS FOUND THAT IF YOU PLAY ON THIS STAGE WHILE PLAYING IN INVISIBLE MELEE (SPECIAL MELEE), YOUR GAMECUBE WILL GET A VIRUS, SO BE VERY CAREFUL.
GTA IV IN SSBM[edit]
IF YOU WANT TO UNLOCK NIKO BELLIC FROM GTA IV HERE'S HOW:Unlock all the 25 characters, then copy your save file on 8 different memory cards. Then, finish classic on hard difficulty 9 time (1 time for each memory card). After doing so, do 3 KOs in cruel melee and then guess wut??????????????? You'll have to beat classic mode on any difficulty with Mario and then Niko Bellic will challenge you. Beat/kill/defeat/ko/destroy him and he's yours!!!! While his attacks does a lot of damage, his jumps really sucks. But he's stronger than Bowser or Link, so dont worry. Finish classic mode with him to unlock CJ.
How to get SSBM onto a VHS tape[edit]
First, select Mewtwo. Then, as Player 3, make a new account called FARTS. Then instead of starting the game, press A 7 times, then B 4 times, then ZR 5 times. There should now be a picture of a VHS player on your screen. Scream 'OBSOLETE!' 3 times, and the GameCube will have a VHS tape in it.
How to unlock Phoenix Wright[edit]
First, buy a fax machine. The throw it out your window. You don't need it anyhow. Then, at the start screen, press the A button 12345 times, spin the C stick in a circle, then spread peanut butter on your controller. Then, go to Home Run contest and it instantly puts you in as Phoenix Wright. If you hit the sandbag exactly 3 feet, then you can use him in classic mode. Beat classic mode with him on hard, then you can play normal matches with him.
How to use the fan as a character[edit]
First, play as Mario and use the fan on Link exactly 3024 times in one match. Then, pause the game, take the disc out of the GameCube, and replace it with a copy of Cool Cat Saves the Kids. Smash should still be on the screen, even though you took the disc out. Resume and you are a fan!
How to unlock.. Jigglypuff[edit]
Beat Classic Mode or Adventure Mode on any difficulty. Then, yer'll fight a Jiggerslypoof. Defeat it and BAM you can play as Jigglypuff. Go nuts.
